On April 9 2009, the 10th Beach Soccer “Cees Bossers” tournament will kick off on Eagle Beach, Aruba. This event has become THE main sporting event to take place during the camping season on Aruba and includes youth, men’s and women’s categories. What is envisioned is an event as big and popular as any international Beach Soccer tournament.
Beach Soccer today is a FIFA recognized and sanctioned sport. The Juventud Tanki Leendert (JTL) soccer team has been successfully organizing this spectacular event for its 10th consecutive year.
The best local soccer players meet on the sandy white soccer field to showcase their talent on one of Aruba’s most prestigious beaches, Eagle Beach. A total of 16 teams will compete for the ultimate championship title. The games begin on Thursday April 9, 2009 at 7:30pm and will continue up till 11:00pm. On Good Friday there will be no games.
On Saturday April 11, the youth games will begin at 9:30am (Categories: Minibaby, Baby, A and B). The women’s and men’s games will take place after the youth finals in the late afternoon hours. On Sunday the games will proceed from 12 noon and finals will be held at approximately 5:30pm on Sunday.
Soccer is our life, we are very passionate about the sport and it is what we do every day. You have to be very passionate, Roland de Cuba advises, president of the JTL in order to effectively run as effectively as we do. It is not an easy task, but with the right attitude and the right team, you can actually have lots of fun. This is exactly what we want Copa Cees Bossers Beach Soccer Tournament to be …, lots of fun for everyone that attends. We want the participants to come out and leave our event with profound memories, not just in terms of competition, but of the atmosphere created at Eagle Beach.
