Aruba weddings provides couples with a choice of many unique and unforgettable venues for an engagement, wedding, religious blessing, renewal of vows, or a special expression of love. Most couples still opt for a barefoot-on-the-beach ceremony despite the diverse landscapes and natural phenomena of the island such as hidden coves, natural bridges, underwater reefs, hilltop panoramas, and unusual rock formations. More creative venues can include the summit of the Hooiberg, a natural bridge and, of course, the Tunnel of Love.
Resorts offer a wide range of options from elegant ballroom to sandy beach. Brides can individualize their special day choosing from a wide menu of facilities and amenities. Wedding specialists will see to every detail and provide invaluable guidance.

Combine intimate indulgences with island excitement for a perfect honeymoon. For private time, couples can charter a catamaran, rent a villa with unlimited golf, or enjoy a night aboard a private yacht. Some choose a spa day to luxuriate together in an aromatherapy floral bath and enjoy a heated-stone couple’s massage and a soothing chocolate wrap.
Storybook fantasies come to life with private candlelight dinners and moonlight strolls, picnics for two, horseback rides through the countryside, excursions to lush private islands, or just relaxing together on glittering white beaches under swaying palms.
Hotels pamper couples with luxuries such as massages and spa treatments, spacious suites with private terraces, room service and personalized attention, flowing champagne and decadent culinary delicacies, and myriad other special touches.
For island excitement, a cocktail at a casual beach bar is a refreshing transition from lazy, sun-drenched days to serene or sizzling nights. Sunset and nighttime cruises depart from Palm Beach piers; hop aboard for a romantic interlude or the ultimate party with rope swing. Dance clubs, intimate lounges, piano bars, karaoke bars, martini bars, wine bars, cigar bars, informal pubs, upscale bistros and glittering casinos buzz with excitement, as does a ride on a wild and wacky barhopping bus! Explore all the outdoor cafés, unique restaurants and popular late hour clubs that pepper both downtown Oranjestad and the high-rise strip. |

Wedding planners are detail-oriented, multi-tasking specialists who work at or in conjunction with resorts to assist with venues and vendors. What seems like a natural, seamless process is actually an intricate, well-coordinated production. Independent and resort wedding planners provide advice about documentation and legal matters, and coordination on the ceremony day.
Every minute detail about the ceremony and reception can be arranged, from officiator, witnesses, flowers, mementoes, gifts, and wedding certificates, to limousine service, photography and video, rehearsal dinners, wardrobe, and personal attendants - even a butterfly release!

Once the law changed several years ago allowing couples to legally marry on Aruba, the number of requests has increased exponentially. Civil marriages take place at the Civil Registry Office in downtown Oranjestad. A couple must provide a certified Certificate of No Impediment (often referred to as a Single Status Report) from their country of citizenship, proof that they are both single and eligible to marry.
Documents should be sent to Bureau Burgerlijke Stand en Bevolkingsregister, Schoolstraat #2, Oranjestad, Aruba, Dutch Caribbean, fax (297) 583-9160. E-mails can also be sent to cayetano.christiaans@aruba.gov.aw |

For a Christian blessing, a local Protestant or non-denominational pastor can officiate at a church or any other preferred location; a copy of the marriage certificate from the home country is required.
For Catholics, the ceremony must take place in the church and all documentation must be submitted four months prior to the chosen date. Pre-marital classes and written permission from the home parish are also required.
For a Jewish wedding, both partners need to submit a verification of Judaism. Authorization to marry in Aruba is required from the hometown rabbi and a formal petition must be submitted to the Aruba Jewish Community.
