There’s a special word in Papiamento, the native language of Aruba, heard quite a bit on the island. The word is “dushi,” and it translates simply to “sweetheart.”
Aruba is a romantic island, bathed in warmth and love. Couples have fallen in love with our stretches of white-sand beaches, swaying palms, secluded coves, spectacular sunsets and starry skies. Relax and toast to your love on a luxury sunset sail; have a private, toes in the sand dinner as romantic torches light the night; or enjoy a couples massage on the beach, accompanied by Aruba’s cooling trade winds.
Adventurous couples can find that perfect secluded spot to snorkel hand in hand, give tandem parasailing a try, and enjoy a helicopter ride with an unforgettable view of paradise. Or, hike to a secluded cove in Arikok National Park and discover dramatic views, as the waves crash against the rocky shoreline.
Couples can reconnect by doing it all, or simply by doing nothing at all. We have Keith and Patty Lindsey from Washington, D.C. as an example, who have visited 13 times in 12 years. See their story here.
Aruba is the perfect place to rekindle romance, celebrate an anniversary, pop the question, enjoy a Caribbean honeymoon or even get married! To plan a romantic escape of your own, take a look at all of the Things to Do in Aruba.
