The last weeks of September are certainly busy ones, with not one, not two, but with three inspirational events taking place! If you are in need for some food for the mind, food for the soul or food for the body; Aruba has got you covered with an international TEDX event this Wednesday the 23rd, followed by the Caribbean Sea Jazz on the 25th and 26th. And with all that dancing and brainpower going on, one must be starved at the end; so indulge yourself in the Eat Local Aruba Restaurant Week starting September 28th lasting thru October 9th!

And with TEDX Aruba, thinkers and do-ers in the areas of Tech, Education and Design, are flocking down to Aruba to share their innovative ideas and sustainable concepts with the island and the world!

Happiness at Work

Featured speaker and award winning comedian Arnaud Collery is definitely a thought leader on happiness. He has created hackathons for local government or happiness workshops / conferences for companies such as Chanel, Cartier, Novartis, World Economic Forum Global Shapers, in NY, Europe and all over the Middle East.  His topic for the TEDxAruba will be “Happiness at Work”.

Aruba’s Wellness Icon

Swedish native Rachel Brathen is a New York Times bestselling author, motivational speaker and international yoga teacher residing in Aruba. In her talk Rachel will give her take on sustainability and social media and how we all have a responsibility to stay authentic online.

Aruba’s Space Specialist

Born in the Aruban town of San Nicolas, Sir Edward Cheung earned his Ph.D. in the field of Electrical Engineering and Robotics from Yale University, and has worked for the past 20+ years at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt Maryland. Renowned for his work on e.g. the Hubble Space Telescope, Edward will share examples how NASA uses the Hubble Space Telescope to define what is happening to the earth, and how NASA uses the earth resources sustainably.

Food for the Soul: Caribbean Sea Jazz Aruba Sept. 25-26

Jazz lovers unite! The Earth Wind & Fire Experience, Grupo Niche, Jessy J and Roy Hargroves RH Factor are just a few of headliners to perform during the 9th annual Caribbean Sea Jazz Aruba

This annual festival is not only about music, but it’s also an onsite art gallery and mouthwatering food court which a unique ambiance! The festival area is right next to the Caribbean Sea and surrounded by beautiful palm trees! In the past famous artists such as George Benson, David Sanborn, Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, Diana Schuur and Candy Dulfer have performed during the CSJ festival.

Food for the Body: The Eat Local Aruba Restaurant Week Sept.28-Oct.9 

After using all that brainpower at TEDxAruba and having extensively enjoyed yourself during the Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival it’s time to nourish your body! Starting September 28th and lasting thru October 9th Aruba will hosts its first Eat Local Aruba Restaurant Week, where participating restaurants will feature locally inspired dishes for a prix fixe menu. Visit upscale restaurants and enjoy a 3 course dinner for$30 to $40 and lunches for just $15.
