Things to Do in Aruba in October

October is a busy month in Aruba, with multiple festivals and sporting events taking place on the One Happy Island.  Check out some fun things for you to do in this month!

Eat Local Aruba Restaurant Week 

Sep 28-Oct 9th

We kick off the month with the EAT LOCAL ARUBA RESTAURANT WEEK, Aruba’s first ever restaurant week focusing on local Caribbean cuisine.  With over 60 restaurants offering you prix-fixe lunches for $15 and dinners for $30-$40, means that you don’t have to dig deep in your pockets for a lovely dinner or lunch! Pick your favorite restaurant  and let your taste buds go wild!  Another highlighted event during this restaurant week is the Iron Chef Aruba competition, where competing chefs fight for the title! Aruba International Film Festival (AIFF) 

Oct 7th-Oct-11th

The Aruba International Film Festival is a high quality film festival that showcases the work of independent filmmakers,  established international directors, screenwriters and actors while also providing a platform for up'n coming local talent.  This year’s celebrity guest is Fast and the Furious and Transformers actor, Tyrese Gybson.  During this festival Tyrese’s film Shame, featuring himself and actress/singer Jennifer Hudson, will have its international premiere!  See critically acclaimed films as The Lobster, Salam Neighbor or the Driftless Area in the Caribbean Cinemas at Palm Beach Plaza Aruba. Presidential Challenge Aruba Cup

Aruba is surrounded by the abounding in fish waters of the Caribbean Sea, so it’s no wonder why Aruba’s oldest and one of the most cherished activities is that of fishing. So if you are a fervent sportfisher, come and partake in the premier sportfishing circuit of the Americas, the Presidential Challenge Aruba Cup!  This annual bill fishing competition takes place at Varadero during the 22th -25th of October, in the height of the marlin season. Aruba International Bike Week

Oct 26 - Nov 1

Hit the Road Jack- during Aruba’s International Bike Week starting October 26th and lasting till November 1st. This annual motorcycle event attracts bikers from across the globe who ship their own bikes over in order to participate. Watch hundreds of bikers on their Harley-Davidson or Yamaha motorcycles and enjoy the festivities!


Oct 31st 

Celebrate Halloween Island Style! What better way to do this than by taking your kids on a zombie expedition with the second edition of the I Run Zombie Trail 2015: The Haunting of Colorado Hills!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is known worldwide as the breast cancer awareness month and in Aruba there are several benefit events throughout this month. The Mary Joan Foundation Aruba is the main breast cancer awareness foundation and they organize a yearly walk to raise funds.  Aruba Aruba Aloe will launch its annual “Because We Care, We Share” campaign to support Aruba's Mary Joan Foundation and promote breast cancer awareness. With every purchase of $75, Aruba Aloe will donate $4.50 to the Mary Joan Foundation. The purchaser will receive a free special “125-year-Anniversary-edition Ultra-Intensive Cream” as a gift (value of $18) for their contribution, as well as a pink breast cancer awareness ribbon to show their support and spread awareness within the local community.
