it has been over 21 yrs since our son was a baby.
so, i am speaking only from experience.
this is only my opinion
#1. try to ignore tripadvisor
#2. the occidental has been renovated and it is lovely and clean
#3. diapers and baby food are available at all of the grocery stores and the pricing is comparable to the usa, maybe 15% higher but not too bad at all.
bring a day or 2 worth of diapers and some of your child's favorites!
occidental is allinclusive and you can be certain that your toddler will not starve.
#4. other than mosquitos and common fly, i have never seen a creey crawly bug in aruba. tons of lizards though and they are really cool.
think of the things that occidental will have
breakfast.... so you do not have to use baby food........oatmeal, applesauce, apple juice, scrambled eggs, mooshed up pancakes, mooshed up french toast etc...
lunch.... again applesauce or ask the chef/wait staff for pureed fruit, small bites of sandwiches, small bites of grilled cheese sandwiches, yogurt.....and then there are french fries (god help us all)
dinner....same as lunch but maybe more choices....maybe add some baked potato, mashed potato and pasta too.
our son's first cruise was when he was 13 mos old. all we brought from home was diapers and his stage 2 formula. right at the begining he was eating french toast and everything else imaginable. partway thru the cruise he ditched the forula AND the bottle and went on whole milk with a sippy cup.
i never bought jarred or boxed baby food after that trip.
it was an awakening.
call or email occidental and ask about the crib situation.
keep us posted

it's our first time going to aruba and our very first time traveling with our baby
we are terrified of how the trip will be and how the occidental is
the reviews were all over the place on tripadvisor
is getting a spot at the pool or beach really that difficult
and is the resturant reservations really that bad
and are teh rooms really that smelly and Moldy?
how about insects coming in - one looked like a roach...
Im so scared one will bite my baby like some of these horror stories...
also was the room big enough for you
was the food good
how about diapers and baby food.. was it available at the stores -if so were they really expenive
and lastly - did they give you a crib? was it wooden or pack and play
and was the room clean - beds etc..
people complained about the beds
it's a lot of money for us and we are really scared now
please please let me know any info you have thanks sooo much
