My husband's friend just returned from a trip to the Occidental with their 9 month old baby and had a great time. Rooms were nice and clean. Slept in and still were able to get a hut and spot by the pool. Cribs were real but small (not full sized). No negative comments about the food or beds.
We always stay at the Hyatt which is next door to the Occidental, and as far as i can tell it looks like a very nice hotel. Everywhere we go is very child friendly and the Aruban people are soo nice and love babies.
I am with Andrea J. - don't worry about baby food. As a mother of 3 i know that babies can eat "real" food more easily than you think. Once they get a taste of our food, they never go back to the baby food. My 8 month old just this week refused his baby food and now eats soft foods - pancakes, eggs, yogurt, cheese, sandwiches, soup, pasta and soft meats and fish, chopped fruits and vegetables - just in time for us not to worry about baby food for the trip.
