Trip Report Divi Dutch Village 4/7-4/11

We loved Aruba so much! We've been back home 3 days and I'm ready to start planning our trip for next year!

Monday arrived at 12:55 pm. Bully had someone waiting for us at the airport. Went to Tam to check in. No hassle like I had heard. Took 10 min. Took the cart to Divi Dutch Village. Divi Dutch what can I say.... the units looked a bit out of date and in need of a makeover. Opened the door to our first floor unit and it was nice and clean! Looked like a small apartment! Our porch opened up to small pool. Housekeeping came everyday and they were outstanding! Older nice crowd hung out at the small pool every day together. Walked on the beach. Got 2 frozen drinks at 7.50 a pop and 2 beers at @ 4.75 and decided to go to the grocery store across the street. Bought Balushi of course and breakfast and sandwich stuff and some really neat juice I have never seen in the states. Walked back across the street to Divi Dutch my dh had the case of beer on his shoulder. Grocery bill $80, pretty reasonable. Hung out at the beach for awhile came back and got ready for Kanku. The bus ride was fun, champagne toast at light house was neat, dinner - everyone compained but I ate all of mine and thought it wasn't bad! Bar hopped. Mama was a hoot! Came back went to bed.

Tuesday- took the bus to the shops, checked out the Rui (Wow!). Spent the entire afternoon on the beach with peach belinis we made in our room. (Used our Kanku coozis). Floating in our tubes in the ocean. Someone on the board gave me the idea. It was perfect! Came back and got ready for FFB.
Loved the FFB. Food - outstanding. Service awesome. Cab fare $48 w/o tip. Next year I want to try Screaming Eagle instead.

Wed. Beach all day. Made our own drinks and thought they were yummier than the resort. By the way we had a coffee pot, toaster, blender, fridge, ect. in our room and it came in handy. Madame Janette's for dinner. Sat outside. Didn't think anyone could top the dinner at FFB but I was wrong. Portions huge. Food was to die for. Bill was $40 less than FFB and cab fare was only $16 round trip. By the way Bully did all our transportation and if you are planning transportation he's the man. I will never use anyone else!!

Thursday - made breakfast in the room and ate on our porch. Bully took us to the Depalm pier for the MiDushi morning snorkel from 9:30 - 2:00. This was my favorite day. The snorkel of the ship wreck was so cool. Music was great. Crew was outstanding. The open bar was nice, too. Lunch was very good and I was pleasantly surprised.
Took the bus back to Divi to rest for dinner. Went to Salt n Pepper for dinner. Very good burgers and Sangrias. Dinner for two with drinks $35. That's my kind of place. Hit the casinos. Went to Soprano's piano bar. Got in bed to late. Bully to pick us up at 5:00 am Friday morning.

Left the airport with no real issues and we were worried with all the planes that AA had grounded. The lines were very long but it was no biggie.

Just thinking about Aruba, Divi Dutch, MJ's, FFB, the people, I want to go back already!!!
