found on this forum on another thread: (of course it's from none other than arubalisa)

i'll tell from you my personal experience, our attempts to recreate the aruba ariba have always failed...it just doesn't taste the same.

Aruba Ariba Drink

Aruba Ariba
Coecoei (liquor) is one of the major ingredients in making the famous "Aruba Ariba." To make this drink here is the following recipe:
Ingredients
1/2 oz. vodka
1/2 oz. 151 rum (better if using Ron Rico from Aruba, higher proof)
1/8 oz Coecoei
1/8 oz Crème de Banana
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup cranberry juice
1/2 cup pineapple juice OR you're favourite "punch drink"

Splash of Grenadine Top with Grand Marnier.
Do not shake, just stir lightly. Top with a "flag" toothpick with cherry and orange.

Re: Aruba Ariba Cocktails
This makes one serving. Mix all ingredients in blender and enjoy!!
1 banana
1 tsp sugar
1 and a half scoops crushed ice
3/4 oz heavy cream
1 oz rum
1/2 oz creme de banana liquor
I know there are different variations of this recipe, but even so, this one is great!!

Local Culture
With a recipe that is centuries old, a local Aruban liquor, “coecoei” was first made by Indian tribes. It has a distinctive red color, derived from one of its prime ingredients—the sap from the “kukwisa” or agave plant, which is mixed with rum and cane sugar. Coecoei is often used today in the creation of island cocktails, including the Aruba Sunset which also employs Ponche Crème, Aruba’s own potent eggnog mixture.

As far as I am aware, and I know someone will jump in if I am wrong, Coecoei is not exported from Aruba.
