RE NJ DMV Changing name problems

Hi Lori,

Glad you did not have a problem with your name change. It was a surprise to me when this couple mentioned that NJ DMV refused to give the bride a new drivers license with her name change because they do not accept Aruba's translated marriage certificate and insisted that they go to a NJ translator that is on their approved list. No one that I know from NJ has had a problem in NJ with name change providing Aruba translated marriage certificate as proof of who they are. Your problem was that it took months before you received your translated marriage certificate. I am glad that I was able to help you expedite it from Aruba Hope I receive more replies regarding this matter. I called a translator here in NJ who told me that they never heard of NJ DMV not accepting a certifed translated marriage certificate from couple's that got married overseas. Take care and be well
