Hello All,
I'm hoping that someone can offer me some assistance or at least point me in another direction as I feel like I'm running out of options and time.
We are planning on getting married in Aruba next week and have obtained all of the necessary paperwork and faxed the info to Mr. Christiaans a couple of weeks ago. I also emailed him a PDF of the documents at both of the following email addresses(
pivaruba@setarnet.aw &
cayetano.christiaans@aruba.gov.aw), which were found when researching what needed to be done to satisfy Aruba's requirements. To date, we have tried calling Mr. Christiaans well over 10 times along with several emails and have yet to hear back from him. When we called a couple of weeks ago we were told by someone that actually picked up the phone at the office of Civil Registry that Mr. Christiaans had a death in the family and was unavailable for a day or so. We've tried calling the office (011-297-583-4400) at various times throughout the day and the receptionist direct your call but noone picks up the phone. We also read info that said that originals do not necessarily need to be sent and that they may be brought with you in person for the civil ceremony. In lieu of not hearing back from Mr. Christiaans we have not sent any originals to date.
I've read other posts that say the same thing about not being able to get in touch with him or his office. Does anyone know if there is an alternate contact that may be reached? We figure that if we don't hear fron him before we leave, we'll have to go directly to his office on Monday morning to try and catch up with him but we're worried that it'll be too late.
As you could imagine, this whole experience is extremely frustrating and is putting a major damper on what should be an exciting time in our lives. We can't even finalize our photography plans due to this.
Please let me know if you can help and thank you in advance for any assistance that you may provide.
