My mom lives here with me (she's 81) and has been in a wheelchair since Oct 2007. We find that handicapped parking is kinda up for grabs. They don't have any handicapped id on their car but park there anyway. We find the best way to go anywhere new is to do a "drive by" check out the stairs and barriers and make our plans.
She can get to most places. The only hard place is downtown where we have to see how the wheelchair would do on some of the uneven bricking on the sidewalks.
