Last time down my wife went cheap and got a little rental car and that bottomed out several times driving on the main road through Arikok. I'd suggest at least a small jeep-ish vehicle unless the road improvements have been completed in the last couple months.

If you want to drive to the natural pool you better get something more rugged than the little "jeeps" and have some decent off road driving experience.
