liz and i have friends that own a business on aruba. it is a pretty good small business and they work very hard.

they relocated from NJ, got residency and then it took them ages upon ages to get their work permits and those permits have to be renewed biannually or maybe now it is annually. also is not cheap.

work permits are incredibly difficult to obtain.
one has to "prove" to the work permit issuer that you are not taking a job from an aruban resident or a dutch national citizen.
