a few places that are easily accessible by car are
Alto Vista chapel
California Lighthouse
Baby Beach
Natural Bridge (has fallen down)
All of these places are probably on an island tour but if you have your own car you can do it at your leisure and pace.
Drive around and check out/tour the cemetaries. They are amazing and kept so beautifully and bright.

Familiarize yourself with "international road signs" and there are a bunch of rul;es of the road in the "aruba experience" magazine/book that you will get upon arrival.

There are rotary/rouundabouts.
The vehicle in the roundabout has the right of way.

One rule is NO RIGHT ON RED. I have learned the hard way. Aruba police are not at all impressed with the claiming ignorance statement.

The main highway in aruba is the stretch of road from san nicholas to the airport to o'stad to the lighthouse. The speed limit is approx 45 - 50 MPH but lots of folks go real fast.

Be aware of herds of goats.............anywhere.....anytime....in your driving around. They have the right of way.

I would like to explore as much as possible...not worried about jeep only areas...will probably do an island tour. Staying at Divi Resort...suggestions for where to go "off the beaten path". You do drive on the right hand side of the road, correct? Thanks a bunch for your input! Getting more excited everyday!
