Since I have not been to Aruba before, I don't know the layout of the island and the traffic/driving conditions. I did rent a car because I like to explore rather than hang out at the beach/resort all day. I do have a problem walking a great distance because of medical problems. Maybe I'll try driving to the places I want to go during the day and check out the parking situation and check out where the bus stops and decide which would be the better option, as far as walking is concerned.
This is going to be a real adventure! I have vacationed on St John USVI for four years and know how to get to everywhere on that island. Aruba is about the same size but I think there are many more people who live there than on St John. Since St John is 2/3 national park....undeveloped, pristine and natural...there is no construction/development within park boundaries. No stop lights on the island...small "town" (Cruz Bay) on one end and Coral Bay....smaller town/ development on the other.
The wife and I wanted to try something different for a change and we had an offer that we couldn't pass up. So....Aruba ...here we come. It will be totally different, but then, variety is the spice of life!
I appreciate all the great info and input that you all have given me so far.
September is a long time coming yet, so I'm sure I'll have more questions between now and then. My hat's off to you all on this forum...you obviously love "your little island" and go out of your way to help newbies like myself.
Thanks again for all the great advice! You guys are fantastic!
