Too funny! And no, I certainly didn't expect to see prices. What I was looking for was maybe a "top 20" list of available flowers with maybe a dollar sign indicator -- $ for affordable and $$$$$ for 'don't even go there'... Maybe there would be a 'list for each season. And I was hoping to see portfolios of work people have done so I could say - 'Yes - that's it!' or at least give me confidence they can do anything I can dream up. That would make things easier for all of us (and save all of us time). I was also hoping for a 'totally not available list', which I finally found my cattleya orchids seem to be on even though they're grown in Costa Rica (maybe its the wrong time of year?).
And I'm not picking on florists... There are others that have left me feeling helpless. I adore my wedding planner - she works so hard and I hate to pester her with every little question. I've been trying to make things easier for both of us by doing my homework. I patiently waited a couple of weeks for the answer on my orchids, but now I'm back to square one.
As far as creating websites, I happen to be a web developer and know a lot of clients get overwhelmed at first (my own father is the worst). I use a great site called guru.com. Its kind of an 'eBay for services'. As an employer you post your project and professionals from around the world bid on the project. You select the winner. Like eBay there is a feedback system and payment is escrowed and released to the freelancer or company only when you are happy. You also get to see portfolios of their work. I've used it both as a freelancer and an employer. (I had my company logo designed by someone in France!)
There are also great sites like templatemonster.com that have very nice professional looking inexpensive web templates. Then you just get someone to plug in your information. I often refer clients there instead of asking then to pay so much more for me to design from scratch.
I'm sure there are vendors that already have more work than they know what to do with, but, if there are vendors out there that are looking to
increase their business, a rockin' website will do wonders for your credibility (and help you to not have to spend time answering the same questions over and over). Anyway - I'm not trying to solicite my services but just offer some advice & resources to those that might be wanting to cash in on missed opportunities.

Being on a small island, not all flowers are always available and though not a "flower wholesaler", but knowing a tiny bit of economics, I would say flower prices fluctuate based upon supply and demand.
Isn't that why our men pay through the _ _ _ _ for roses on Valentine's day.
