Re: Currency

When we first went to Aruba we took cash, travelers checks and credit cards. You know, just in case. After coming home with the travelers checks several years because we thought we should have they to prevent problems we decided to take cash for our gambling and the small things we might have coming and going such as porters and valet tips, cabs, tee shirts, things you might grab at the airport etc. Hotel, dinners, shopping etc. go on our American Express. We've never had a problem using our credit card. They are widely accepted in Aruba. I will say that the reason we use American Express is that they have always done the exchange for the best possible rate available at the time. Aruba may not be a problem with exchange but other destinations have been so we have just got in the habit of using what we are comfortable with. Don't forget to use the safe in your hotel. You program them with your choice of code so they are safe. That will prevent you from having alot of cash on your person at any one time. Enjoy your vacation. I know you will enjoy Aruba.
