Re: Has anyone stayed at the Aruba Resort and Spa
Stayed there 4 times over the last six years, when it was a Wyndham. Always enjoyed ourselves. The staff have always been friendly and accommodating. Met some of the "top staff" and developed a friendship that helped us get free double upgrades, and once even a new mattress - within an hour of request. All restaurants in the hotel are good; but there are so many great restaurants on the island you shouldn't limit yourself to one hotel. We always got the breakfast buffet plan, and it worked for us. As someone suggested, if you are a drinker, their beverage plan could prove economical for you. The beach is great, except when the breezes get a little too strong. Was told it is more windy here because of the structure of the building. So, we just moved over to the pool. They also have a dinner show 5 nites a week; we found it good - but loud. They do have a "kid's club", but don't know what it's like.
Say Hi to Jander (pronounced Yander), the activities director around the beach and pool; from Nancy & Paul from Boston. He will treat you right.
Oh, and do take in their weekly barbeque and show in the palapa.
