My issue is not that there is construction going on. The hotel has a choice to make, that is, close down during construction, or not. And that is there choice. My complaint is that they let me book my reservation, which is tied into a promo thru the Surf Club that I cant cancel, so I am booked for 11 nights and 8 of those nights are paid for, then months later, just 6 weeks before my arrival, a clause appears on my online confirmation, informing me of the construction. Like I said, the hotel has a right to make any business decision they deem appropriate regarding when to do construction. I should be given the right to make an informed decision as to where to stay. I could have booked the Radisson, or Hyatt, had I known earlier. But now I cant cancel.
