I am returning to Aruba in two weeks, for about the 15-17th time, in 30 years. While I'm looking forward to it, I am concerned about overbuilding, and I am feeling the same way. So in February, I am going to St. Kitts. I havent been there, but know people who have. I get the feeling that it is Aruba 15 years ago. Not built up. One big "American Style" hotel, the Marriott, with a casino, and a nice beach. Thats all I need. So maybe there's an idea for you.
