Re: 1st time surfer - thanks!

Hey L,

In the last 105 years there has been one reported shark attack in Aruba. Last August a 13 year old boy fell off a jetski supposedly on top of one and got bit. Others who tended the wound said it looked more like a bite from a barracuda. No one knows for sure it seems.

Go to Palm beach and Eagle beach to rent jetskis, parasail, waterski and find out where to go for windsurfing--which is very good up past high rises. Jetskis are $45.00 for 30 minutes ($55.00 for a double),think parasail is $55 for 20 minutes and $10 for anyone who just rides along in the boat.

Thaks Stela,
Like she said there is a lot of windsurfing and other info on my arubahouse.com com web site.

There is surfing in Aruba up by the lighthouse. There are no board rentals. if you are planning to bring a board, email me and I'll tell you where to go and how to get there.

You can contact me through my web site. Just scroll past the house stuff.

SHARKS!!

Ever since I can remember my parents would always take us deep sea fishing around Massachusetts and Cap Cod area. We caught many weird and exciting creatures with teeth. They began entering in a Monster shark tournamnet in Martha's Vineyard and since I have been petrified of sharks...I mean petrified. I am honeymooning in Aruba in October 2004 and was wondering how often you come across sharks there, reff sharks and other populations. I've heard there is a very low incidence of attack but I was wondering how likely it would be that I see one or more if I were surfing, kayaking, swimming, and other water sport activities.
All your responses would be greatly appreciated!!!
