We met a few people on our last trip that did the day pass at the Riu 2x because they were staying off the beach area and felt they could not eat/drink anywhere else for the cost of the day pass- they really enjoyed there drinking.....but so do I when on vacation.

I actually just called Renaissance and inquired about day passes to the island for non-guests and was told they no longer offer those. Question answered! Bummed, because that was something I had wanted to do, no matter the cost.
