Anyone take a TomCar tour yet?

Aruba Off-Road Adventure - Aruba ATV Tours. I read about it in Caribbean Travel & Life but haven't heard any buzz about it.

I did a search on the forum and only see a discussion about comparing the cost of ATV and TomCars. I don't think I'm interested in the ATVs and the TomCars look safer to me. Anyone tried them out yet?

We had booked with them in June but we cancelled after they dropped their stop at the Natural Pool.

It is probably safer than an ATV, but just as dusty. I would say if they stop at the spots you wish to see, go for it and come back here and tell us all about it.

I went in Nov last year and it was awesome, does not have the freedom/open air like of an ATV but, sure is safer and goes almost anywhere.Only thing I did not like about it was the high pitch sound it makes when the E brake is not in place when the engine is turn off and parked.
You can read and find more info on the TOMCAR site, this offroad vehicle is one of the best out there.

http://www.tomcar.com/

I want one!!!!

I have two 19 year old coming with us, is this something that they could do safely?

ATV tours are and have always been O U T !! So is this something that is a better alternative and is it safe?

yes, 19 year olds would be fine. It is extremely safe. Unless you forgot which pedal was brake and which was gas...

We rented dune buggies several years ago. Since then I have heard these were no longer available. These Tom Cars seem to be basically the same. Before they let our 16 yr olds drive them with an adult in the car. Do you know how strict they are about this?

Does anyone know if you can rent the Tomcar and drive the island solo (as they allow with certain ATVs)? I just hate the tours.
