Biking & Snorkeling Question

Biking:
Are there any good bike paths? Is it safe to ride bikes around the city?

Snorkeling:
Where are the better places to snorkel? Are the snorkeling trips worth the money, are some better than others? If you do not know how to swim, can you still snorkel?

Thanks

Rick

I haven't seen any bike paths in aruba, i might be wrong. I do know that there is alot of traffic downtown and I don't know that i would ride a bike or moped for that matter there. Lots of little streets and cars there. COuld be different down a the high rise area. My family stays downtown area.

No bike paths that I know of. There is a short path between tamarijn going up to Alhambra and general area. Tamarijn/Divi guests can get bikes at the Tam. That path is mostly used by the trams though taking you back and forth.

We did the snorkeling trips our first year. They're nice if you've never done anything like that but honestly, there are spots you can go out to from the shore (Boca Catalina, Malmok, Mangel Halto) that are just as nice. Be careful of the boats that take you out to the ship wreck for non-swimmers. The current can be choppy.

Here on this website is a site called "Catalina Cove".

http://www.shorediving.com/Earth/ABC/Aruba/Catalina_Cove/pic4.htm IMHO, THIS is the best spot for snorkeling. It is rocky/coral, BUT for snorkeling easy and LOTS of stuff to see.

For excursions:
Tranquilo- terrific snorkel, outer reef which none of the other excursions go to My review of our excursion

Jolly Pirates
Octopus

For non-swimmers you can purchase a snorkel vest on ebay for about $20.

We had a pretty good time on the De Palm. Food and drinks were not bad and the people were great, Only Problem.... baby Jellyfish!

We all got stung but they were not that bad. Felt like deer fly bites
