I just returned home from our trip to Aruba. What an awesome time!
I went snorkeling about 4 days while I was there, including a trip to De Palm island. There is no comparison, De Palm is hands down the best spot. Huge parrot fish come right up to the entry points. The reefs about 100 yards off the island were awesome. Not many people went out that far, but it was well worth it. 10-15ft of water and amazing fish everywhere. Along with the buffet and open bar, this was bar far my favorite day in Aruba. Arashi beach wasn't too bad, but the water isn't as clear as off De Palm island. There are always a bunch of ships dropping off people to snorkel in the deeper waters. I saw a bunch of starfish at Arashi. One of the better spots was around the ship wreck just south of Malmok. The first 2 days we were there the waves were pretty calm and the amount of fish around the wreckage was impressive. The entry is shallow, but if you want to see a bunch of fish it's a good spot. I never made it to Baby Beach due to the festivals all week, maybe next time. I wish I saw some sea turtles and/or sea horses, but overall it was a very successful snorkeling trip.
