Excluding Water/Beach/boating activities...What do you like to do during the day?

Leaving the beach and water related sports/activities out of the mix..........what do you like to do in Aruba during the day that does not involve water?

I like to poke around the shops downtown. The kiosks near the cruise ship area are fun and they have loads of inexpensive souveniers. While downtown we always look for someplace new for a light bite. I still miss Rhumba Wine bar. The Paddock is a good stop (code for leave the spouse there while you shop) and it's great for people watching.

We love to jump in the jeep and cruise around the island, finding new places to eat and trying to find the ones we have been to but forgot where we found them....
Love to drive up to watch the kite surfers.....see how high they can go and how many flips they can get in before landing.....

Wine hunt! We like to run around and see who carries different kinds of wines. And we're OBSESSED with EuroKitchen and all the cool things they sell.

Wait, there are things to do that don't involve water?? Great post Andrea, looking forward to seeing some of the ideas here. We really have never done anything that didn't eventually end up with a water activity. I was thinking this year I would like to check out the Fort Zoutman museum.
Not sure when, but we will be back

yes...what got me thinking of this topic is our friend charlie.
he has traveled with us a few times to aruba and he is not a beach goer.
he loves to putter around doing other stuff that is not water related.

he has visited fort footman and thought it was nice, and only spent an hour there, said that was enough time to see it all.

another thing he loves to do is to visit the resort bars and to people watch.
his favorite is lacabana pool bar!!

After my husband and I read San Nic's books we want to check out Charlies Bar. It sounds like a pretty cool place to check out and see some local characters perhaps. I have seen pictures on line and just all the items decorating the ceilings looks pretty cool. I also like to check out the spots downtown to shop and haven't been to Ignaua Joe's for lunch in a couple of years may have to do that this November.

Andrea, you jogged my memory. When we did our island tour we stopped at the pet cemetery. I have loads of pictures and Tom thinks I'm crazy. It was a beautiful ocean spot with such a varied landscape.
