    Fishing from Eagle Beach

I've seen people fish from the beach, from Eagle Beach, and I thought it would be fun if I brought a pole with me on my next trip and give it a shot. Has anyone here had any experience fishing from a beach in Aruba? What kind of bait did you use? Hooks? Any info would be appreciated! Thank you!

I fish from Eagle Beach (right outside our resort - La Cabana) and other shore spots when I visit Aruba.

I fish with lures so as far as bait goes I'd assume that the usual culprits will work fine (squid, shrimp, crabs, etc).

Here's what I take with me:
    - Spinning rod - Medium-fast 6'6" size travel rods (http://www.amazon.com/Croix-Triumph-.../dp/B00290SPOC)
    - Spinning reels - Size 3000-4000 reels
    - Lures - topwater poppers, jigs, crankbaits, swimbaits, etc

    - Fly rod - 9' 8-weight
    - Fly reel - large arbor reels with WF floating line and an intermediate sinking line
    - Flies - crab imitations, shrimp imitations, clousers, etc
    Aruba here we come!

I've never fished Eagle but I'd guess it's not too different from Palm Beach. Up on Palm Beach I caught a few bonefish by the windsurfing area. If you bring a flashlight and go out on the beach at night you can catch some of the little ghost crabs which make for great bait.
