fishing from the shore?

My husband and I will be vacationing in Aruba next week for the first time. He is wondering if there are areas to fish from the shore or a pier and if so, where? Are there places to rent fishing poles and gear? Appreciate this message broad - most of our questions have been answered just reading other posts. Thanks!

Re: fishing from the shore?

In the hotel area the locals fish with a drop line. they tie an inflated baloon a few feet above the baited hook and let the wind blow the baloon out to deep water (dark blue). I have seen 10 kilo red snapper caught this way.

Re: fishing from the shore?

I will be in aruba at the same time. Yes, there is fishing from shore.

Bonefish, Permit, baracudda, yellowtail snapper to name a few.

Take jigs and poppers if you are spin fishing. Curly tails, spoons, bucktails work well. Colors: Silver /white/ pink /tan

Good luck

Re: fishing from the shore?

If you will be fly fishing, there are flats directly in back of the Renaissance. Bone fish have been caught there as well as small baracuda.
The areas surrounding Baby Beach have tons of fish as well as coral and you can either have a great time or be very frustrated. Not being a great fisherman, I end up frustrated.

Have fun

Has anyone ever fished from shore in the area between the Tamarijn and the old Bushiri? Tips? Coral or rocks to get snagged on?
