Jeep Tour......Everybody drives thier own Jeep?
Hello all! I went to Aruba with my parents about 15 or so years ago when I was a teenager. We went on a "Jeep" tour and every group got thier own vehicle. I remember it being a small beat-up Suzuki Samarai or something small that held 3-4 people. It was pretty neat and you had some privacy. My parents and I were in "jeep" and I believe there were 10 or so vehicles all together.
Does anything like this still exist? I drive offroad regularly and would like to drive the Jeep myself except I don't really feel comfortable being responsible for other peoples families. What I feel is fun-safe driving may not feel safe or fun to them. Anything still out there? Small "jeeps" that hold 3-4 people, every group drives thier own? Thanks! |

you can most definitely drive your own jeep as most prefer to sit back and take in the views. you just need to bring your driver's license - which they never check/verify anyhow.

I think I was asking too broad a question. Are there any "Jeep tour companies" that provide small 3-4 person jeeps for a tour?
Instead of have 2 or 3 land rovers that hold 10 people each, i would rather be in a group of 10 jeeps that hold 2-3 people each. Any tour companies provide this? |

Hi BigOldxj
I would watch out with these small jeeps. If you are going to go off-roading to the natural pool I strongly advise you to go with the land rovers. Since it has been raining a lot in Januari and Februari the 'roads' back there have gotten really bad. The smaller jeeps break down many times or get a flat. This is hardly the case with the big land rovers. They can take a beatin' I know that it is also possible at ABC tours to ask for your own jeep, where only your party will be in the jeep (there is a charge though I believe) Contact them to be sure. 15 years ago the back roads were still good, where even regular cars could go and explore the rough side of Aruba. Now that is definitivly not the case. Whatever you do... enjoy Aruba and your vacation to the fullest! |
