I was wondering how old you have to be to rent a jet ski?

Is it the same in all rental places?

Also, I am 15 and I was wondering if you have to prove your a certain age or something? Thanks a lot.

15 will work, might need parent to pay.

Sorry to say that Jill is wrong. You have to be 16 to rent a jet ski unless your parent signs for you. Last year a 14 year old boy rented a jet ski, went too far out, and never came back. It was very sad but the rules are the rules and after that incident the owners of the jet skis are more careful than ever.

You do have to be 16 to rent one on your own.

In the case involving the 14-year-old he was with a friend of his mother's who claimed the boy was 16. At some point his machine broke down. Very tragic.
