Thanks Tracey. I like the idea of the water slide. Between a boat with a water slide, Depalm or go carts I am hoping one of them excites the little guy. We want this to be perfect for him...it will be his first Christmas/Birthday (not his last) in Aruba without our extended families so we want to make sure he does not "miss" anything.

I appreciate everyone weighing in....I would not be happy to see something raunchy with my 8yr old son....If I can get him to change his mind on his own I may tell him the boat needed repairs and we can't go....

My kids have LOVED both Jolly Pirates & DePalm Island. We've done JP as a family some drinkers, some not - all had an amazing time. The kids loved the rope swing - both on the backs of the pirates and solo. The pirates are always awesome with them - taking pictures with the kids, having them "drive" the boat & dressing them up. Of course they will always have a special place in my heart for what they did to recover my husband's wedding band from the bottom of the ocean floor. The first stop (Antilla) is NOT a place CJ should get off the boat. That would be a perfect time for him to bond with the guys and feel comfortable on the boat - maybe taking pics, etc. My opinion, obviously , the scene is all what you chose to make it for your kid. DePalm Island - amazing! The waterslides, the food, the fact that he can run around from activity to activity and they are all just steps from each other. The small kids sized tables & fun chairs. It's really geared for kids with enough fun for the adults to enjoy too! Jolly Pirates-depalm.jpg

Thanks Jacki. I am glad they appear to do a little more than I thought they might. I will chat it up with the little guy this weekend.

I like your thinking and I am sure something will happen there. The ladies at Ritz Kids are wonderful and are planning something for him that day for the morning....it will be a 24 hour celebration, lol.

Thanks to all of you for your help, Jolly Pirates is out! The deciding factor was when I said I spoke with my online friends and they all thought we should wait another year or two for the Pirates....when I said CP Jones said should wait....it was an instant switch with no turning back, lol. So its official he will do his Ritz kids birthday in the morning, we will jet ski for the 1st time and then head to race track to try go carting for the first time as well. We will then finish up with a birthday filet and lobster dinner at BLT, and then head to bed early so Santa can come.

    Thanks again guys!

He has never steered us wrong, I have to say I go with the WWCPD philosophy too. What would CP do?
I think a couple more years for the pirates is a good idea Jay.
