Can anyone tell me if we can rent kayaks without having to use the guided service?

i know they have them on Reniassance island. Don't know about any other place, but I bet someone else knows.

Are there different places that you can rent a kayak and do it as a group and not on your own or is it easy enough to do on our own? Where on the island is it best to do it?
