kite surfing

Has anyone ever kite surfed? We are thinking of trying it and would like to hear from somebody who has done this.

Re: kite surfing

my husband took lessons when we were there in May. He had a great time. It does not look easy but he was up and flying the 2nd day. he took lessons from Christian at fisherman huts. if you want a great show go to Boca Grande to see the professionals.pack a cooler and just enjoy the show!!!!

Re: kite surfing

Windsurfed in Aruba 2 years ago, will be going back again this year. Wanted to try out some kitesurfing, but wondered if the cross off-shore wind was unsuitable for learning in? did your husband have any problems with the wind direction? did the instructor have a rescue boat?

Thanks.

Re: kite surfing

My 17 yr old son did kite surfing for 4 days with Armando at Fishermans house beach (just further along the beach from the high rise section) He absolutely loved it. got up the first day. Went way out. Armando has a rescue boat so no issue. If you have your own gear, rescue boat costs $20.00 per rescue. It was certainly the highlight of his trip. You may want water shoes at that beach as Ivan made it really rocky. a lot of small stuff that you step on going in and as you go out.
