What 1st timer activites/tours would you recommend to a first timer?

If you want to feel like a rock star this tour is lots of fun. While at all the regular landmarks you will have all the tourists on their buses coming over to check out your trikes. Lots of them will take pictures, ask where they can get the tour and say they wish they were on a trike instead of a bus (lol). Tons of fun and tour guides are great as well. Don't forget your camera and sunscreen.

I think a lot of it depends on the age of the first timers. If you'd have asked me a year ago, I would have said a De Palm tour or Jolly Pirates or something along those lines. Since this last trip, I recommend seeing the entire island from a truly unique perspective: http://www.skydivearuba.com/ Not for everyone, but anybody can ride a bus...

Depending on ages & likes of course, I highly recommend a booze/snorkel cruise. So much fun and great vibe!

    re: touring
    I think i would recommend a 3 part.....
-a few hours in an air conditioned vehicle seeing the sites that are car accessible (alto vista chapel, lighthouse, gold mine ruins, fallen down natural bridge, paved road arikok.

    - a few hours or almost a full day of organized jeep tour

    - a helicopter tour

    activity
    - snorkel sail that would include snorkeling, lunch and beverages...alcoholic and non.

    re: both tours and activities
it is VERY difficult to tear oneself off of the beach to participate.

I think a snorkel cruise is a fun activity for newcomers. Black Pearl would be my recommendation.

our favorite thing we have done so far is the UTV tours through DePalm Tours. You get a guided tour of parts of the island but you get to drive your own 4 wheeler. You get dirty but it is fun!
