    shore fishing and split guide?

Coming to Aruba for the first time March 8th for 8 nights. Would love to catch some fish!! Don't have many saltwater fish in Nebraska. Any information on where and how for shore fishing would be great. Is there a bait and tackle store? Also maybe someone would like to split a charter? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the heads up Andrea.

My husband is a shore fisherman in Aruba for years. I cannot answer the bait and tackle shop question as he has his own gear.....salt water gear of course.

He shore fishes at dawn on Palm Beach in front of both the Playa Linda and the Holiday Inn. In fact, if you are in that area, you should spot him easily (dressed in his loud bathing suits of choice while fishing) as we will be there March 4th to March 20th this year.

He fishes with spoons with 'tails' attached to the ends. Sometimes the water isn't clear enough to be successful...depends on what is going on out in the Ocean those weeks. He has caught a variety of fish from the short over the years and there are actually 3 or 4 of them that do this, these weeks together.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask.

I shore fish during that time. Bring tackle! There is very limited supplies on the island. I normally bring 2 travel rods. Some 6" steel leaders for baracuda is a good idea.. There are bonefish in limited quantities but they are sizeable. Try the flats down near the rusted wreck, a mile or so past the last of the high rise hotels as you go in the direction of the lighthouse. Early morning!

Hi, I need some suggestions on fishing off the reef cliffs by Boca Catalina. Does anyone know what type of lures? What kind of baot works and should I use a float with the bait? Also, how is the fishing by the flats (rusted wreck)?
    Thanks!
