Snorkeling from Divi AI

I'll be in Aruba in one week (!) and need to make some plans! My boyfriend and I will be there for 5 days and would like to spend at least one snorkeling. Neither of us have been before so I'm looking for some beginner snorkeling. We'll be staying at the Divi AI.

I've read the snorkeling there isn't all that great, but we weren't planning on renting a car soooo are there companies that will pick us up from the hotel? What areas are the best?

We do have the option of borrowing equipment from friends if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

There is nothing to see snorkeling directly off the Beach at the Divi. Just a plain white sandy bottom with no where for fish or critters to hide.

Our favorite area to snorkel right off the beach is at Boca Catalina. Very easy to drive to from the Divi.

There is tons of info here on car rentals

You just need to shop around and see which company you feel most comfortable with. Reserve in advance for best availability. There are a limited number of rental vehicles on the island.

I would recommend the Jolly Pirates. My boyfriend and I have sailed with them on our last two trips to Aruba. I had never snorkeled before and I had a great time. The equipment and lunch is included in the price, along with an open bar. You can take the bus from the Divi AL. The bus stop to go to the high rise area - where the Jolly Pirates are located- is across the street from the Casino. You can also take a cab. You can book online before you go and get a discount.

Have Fun!!

If you're comfortable in the water, DePalm will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the dock for the palm pleasure cruise. If you aren't comfortable in open water, you may want to drive down to baby beach or out to Malmok.

There is a Hertz desk right in the Divi lobby. Highest quality vehicle I've had from any rental agency on the island, though a bit more expensive.

I have always enjoyed Jethro and the Octupuss over by the Holiday Inn peir, he is super nice, and takes you to snorkle at Boca Catilina

You can also take a bus to Boca Catalina. There are other areas to snorkel but that is the easiest to get to from your location.
