Snorkeling equiptment

Does anyone knoe if the Holiday Inn has snorkeling equiptment you can rent or borrow for the day to take with you on your own trips like to the natural pool and baby beach? If not, are there any places you can use the equiptment from or is is better to just buy your own?

Don't know about the HI supplying equipment.

If you are going to be using snorkel gear more than just one trip, yes, it may be worth investing the money in your own gear. There are various opinions as to whether or not one should run to Walmart or Target and pickup something or go to a dive shop and be properly fitted for a proper seal on a mask, fins, etc.

With today's airline weight restrictions, you also have the issue of fitting all those "goodies" in your luggage.

IF, the HI does not have gear, and if you do not bring your own, I know for a fact, you can rent gear right there at Aruba Watersports http://www.arubawatersportcenter.com/pricelist_WS.htm between the Radisson and Occidental. If you are snorkeling Baby Beach, JADS has on their website, that they rent gear also.

hi Travis and kelly
we chose to buy our own.
i recently got 2 sets on ebay. the sets contain mask, snorkel and fins.
we won the bid for $15.oo plus shipping (each set)they were brand new in the package.
when we were in Aruba about 5 years ago. They do have a toy store there that sells them. we paid $50.00 for mask and snorkel.
the ones from ebay will be for my grown children for xmas. we are all going in June 2008.
good luck have a great time

HI TRAVIS AND KELLY,
yES, hOLIDAY iNN DOES HAVE SNORKEL EQUIPMENT YOU CAN BORROW. WE ALWAYS BRING OUR OWN MASKS ( DONT LIKE USING OTHERES MOUTHPIECES) AND MY JACKET AND BORROW THE FINS. YOU GO TO ARUBA WATERSPORTS ON THE NEARBY PIER AND LEAVE A CREDIT CARD TO BORROW FOR THE DAY AND THEN WHEN YOU RETURN EQUIPMENT THEY GIVE CARD BACK. THIS YEAR WE ARE STAYING AT TAMARIJN, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT KIND OF CONDITION THEIR EQUIPMENT IS IN?

We were hooked on the trip so we broke down and bought ourselves two sets at one of the stores at the mall downtown. I think we paid around 14.00-15.00 each for the mask and mouthpiece.. I wasn't a fan of the flippers too much so I think we'll still rent them if we need them next time. Plus I am not sure if I'd like traveling with flippers anyways!

If you can find a lightweight pair they are not too bad. If you purchase your own you will never have to worry about proper fit from a pair of rental fins. Nothing like having them slip off or worse yet, blisters from rental fins.

Well seeing how we had to buy another bag to travel home with for our goodies... I can't even imagine packing one set not to mention two sets of fins... may be we will have to get a bag just for these things for next time..

We bought a mesh shopping bag to haul our gear around - that way you can dunk the whole thing in the sink to rinse off the salt, and toss it all in the dish drainer to dry (or hang in the shower).

Easter in Aruba
