steeldrum music

in reading the wedding forums, I had wished there was a place where you can just relax have a cocktail and listen to some steeldrum music, does anyone recommend a place where there is something like that ???

Send a message via Skype™ to Andrea J.
in january there was a nice band at happy hr late afternoon at lacabana's pool.
there was a steelpan drum player and it was pretty nice.
not overly laid back and relaxing, but not loud and obnoxious either.

There is a steel drum group that plays at the Divi and Tamarijn one night each per week. Think it's on a rotating schedule. Lisa may have more details available.

For info on the steel drummer at the Divi/Tamarijn I would phone either resort once you arrive on the island and inquire as to the night. They sell coupons for drinks at the bar and you would be able to sit at the bar and listen.

Joe and Mimi, have a wonderful trip.

The Tamarijn has daily activities posted at the front desk with movies of the week, and then daily times and then the night's "theme". I have an example at http://www.arubabound.com/accommo/tamarijn_activities.htm

They have since gone to just a daily sheet, but this will at least give you an idea of the things they offer. That has not changed. During our visits in June and December they offered poolside bingo weekdays at 3 pm. Bingo is free and offers prizes like bottles of wine and T-shirts.

Also check at the towel hut for some excursions they offer. Definitely check out the snorkel bicycle ride to Boca Catalina (if you are in shape ) and if it is your "thing" the Butterfly Farm trip.

Hi Aruba lisa,
we wanted to go to the butterfly farm, so this would be fun. How far of a bike ride is it?? Think this would be fun..
