Suggestions
Okay, my wife and I will be making our second trip to Aruba next week. On our first trip we never toured the island.(besides going downtown) We are beach lover's, so we just stayed at the resort and hung out at the beach. This time I would like to explore the island. Should we do the jeep tour or the ATV tour? Keep in mind I'm a big guy (6'-1" and 260lbs.) also, which company to use. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

We have toured on our own by 4 x 4 and our last trip took an ATV tour with Kini Kini. The ATV tour was A LOT of fun.

My boyfriend and I went on the ATV tour through De Palm and had a BLAST! The only thing I would suggest would be to confirm the time of departure....the group that was leaving from the hotel we were at all had different times....other than that, the guys were great! We are acutally thinking of doing it again this year with the other couple that will be with us (their first time).

Have explored the island by ourselves since day one...which was many years ago. Go to this website and buy a map (laminated and roads are well defined)
http://www.borch.com/ and rent a 4x4 for a day or 3 and try touring the island yourself. The first 5-6 times we had no maps just took off and made our way here and there. Then go on an ATV tour...others on this forum would be able to tell you which ones are better...we do that ourselves also.... The best thing is that you get to enjoy the island and it is beautiful...Have a good time and take pix, then come back and post them so we all can enjoy them with you....

I agree with those that are telling you to take a jeep tour or an atv tour
problem is though........ you may become a "beach lounge potato" meaning once you hit the beach it will be difficult to leave the beach for ANY reason at all. any of us, who have visited aruba often, have great intentions to "do stuff". unfortunately though.......beach potato sets in and we spend our days wallowing in the sun, sand, warm breezes and turquoise waters sometimes hubby and i drag ourselves off the beach and it is an effort just to shower and then go to dinner. we turn into aruba slugs. in april, i turned down a 2nd horseback ride as i was "too tired". better words would have been "too lazy" ![]() andrea Quote:

an island tour is a must. just imagine driving an atv or a jeep through arid deserts and rocky hills with the warm tradewinds and aruban dirt coursing through your hair and clothes!!!! there's a lot to of the island.
