    Taking Fishing Equipment to Aruba

What methods do you all use to bring your fishing equipment to Aruba? I'm guessing you have to pay extra for it?

When I brought my fishing gear down, I carried the poles on the plane and packed reels, lures and etc in my checked bags. Had no trouble taking the poles on the plane. Just tie them together so TSA can see what they are. . .

Thanks Tom and Stanley! What sort of poles/lures did you bring? Do you have to have a surf caster for fishing off land down there?

I have the same lures I use for fresh water. I also brought some hooks that I use for bait (shrimp, piece of fish, clam, etc). I have a 8 foot pole that I use for fishing from shore near Arashi beach. . . .

i bought a cheap golf club bag(nylon), and used that to fly them home from florida on year. Found them while driving on A1A, 3 hours before my flight. think it was $19 for the bag.

bring a light collapsible rod with small reel with 10 pound test line with some small hooks, weights, bonefish lures.buy squid, shrimp at supermarket.most fish from beach will be under 5 pounds.you can either bring on board plane or pack in luggage.try arashi beach for bonefish, good luck.
