has anyone seen blocked off turtle's nesting areas on palm beach?
i have seen plenty on eagle and druif beaches, but we rarely go up to palm beach.
palm beach area is a narrower strip of sand than eagle, so i was wondering if that makes a difference?
In all my years going I have only witnessed it once. Also, only seen them at Eagle/Manchebo beach. It is quite the experience and a great thing to watch. One thing people should know.. the turtles are swimming towards the sun. The constant flash of cameras going off confuses them and leaves them as prey for birds. The turtle lady yelled at people for it. Was quite funny.. just saying!
for the past 3 weeks turtles nest in front of beach bar at the occidental..
I have seen many turtle hatchings on Eagle beach over the last few years. I know the weather patterns here in the NE are changing, I hope it doesn't affect the hatching times. I'll see if I can dig up some of my pictures and videos and post them.
We were At the Riu on Palm Beach 2nd week of July and walked up towards the Holiday Inn and saw a turtle nest blocked off around the Occidental I believe. I was so hoping it would have hatched while we were there.
Argh... Sorry, I keep forgetting to post my pictures. I need to send myself a note to remember when I get home.
