Venezuela

Are there ferry's/cruises that take day trips over to Venezuela. Just wondering if this is something that anyone has done, and if so is it worth doing and checking out, or better off just staying in Aruba?

Thanks.

There are no ferries. Venezuela can be reached by air only. For info on airlines and airports serviced see http://www.airportaruba.com/en/flightinfo/arrivals/

Go on Google Earth and you'll see that even if Venezuela was safe (which it isn't) the tourist areas are not close to Aruba.

Thanks everyone. I am perfectly happy staying in Aruba. This is my first trip to Aruba, so I thought maybe going to Venezuela might be something that people occassionally do. Thanks for the info, laying on the beach in Aruba with a beer in my hand is just fine.

If anything you could take a day trip to Curacao or Bonaire for sightseeing or snorkeling. Positives and negatives of that as well. Depends on how badly you want to get off Aruba.

We visited Curacao one day on a cruise ship, I was happy we did- great diving, but beaches are not as nice as Aruba. Dh said he preferred Aruba for a land vacation.

Bonaire too is a good spot for one day unless you are a snorkeler or diver. Of course for just a day trip to Bonaire from Aruba you could only snorkel.

I don't recommend a trip to Venezuela. While I've been there twice to visit my husband's family..it's not a visitor friendly vacation atmosphere. The exchange of dollars doesn't make sense & there is no safety at night. So think twice before making a pit stop to Venezuela, especially Caracas.
