    Walking Wine/Beer tour

Okay, I want to run a business idea past all of you. Andrea's post about the walking tour got me thinking. I was 100% against the walking tour as it was described but it got me thinking. If you were on a boat cruise would you consider the following. Would you take a walking Wine/Beer tour? The tour would stop at local places where you could have a local drink, and quick small bite- local dishes/pastries etc....with stops at the museums and a few other scenic spots. Would that be something you would consider? I am a business man at heart- I ran a couple of small businesses while in HS and college- nothing big just enough to make some extra cash- I am always looking/thinking of new things but never act at this point.

Thanks for the link. Looks like it exists in NY for sure.

I think there is something similar in Key West. The business model seems to work in cruise ports.

Absolutely, although I don't think I would include stops at the museum - I would want it to be more fun, upbeat Kukoo Kunuku type, kinda pub crawl ish with quick bites.

As a self-appointed expert in this area, I would go for a Palm Beach bar crawl. It would only work for cruise passengers though, land visitors can figure it out on her own.

We do these in Europe all the time if we're in a city that is new to us. We always book a food/wine walking tour within our first day or two to get the lay of the land, cultural background on local food and wines and restaurants to dine at later in the weeks (and a lot of tastes of everything) and also get some history of the city as we're walking from place to place - it's always done by a local from the area who was born and raised there. We've done quite a few in Europe and they always start around 5 or 6pm and last for about 4 hours. The one we had in Lisbon lasted until almost midnight because we were a really small group (usually max is about 10 people) and we got along with our local guide so well that we just drank wine and talked into the night at our last stop.

I would look at it more as a pub crawl in Aruba though - and they already have the Kukoo bus for that.

There are quite a few cruise ports that offer pub crawls or dine around tours. Combining drinking and eating in Aruba sounds like a hit. Cruisers get into that sort of thing. Making the last stop at a nice beach bar would probably be a great selling point. Usually, the cruise ports do this during the day, to coincide with cruise schedules.
