What did I miss doing in aruba?

okay, i've been to aruba about 6x now. as i've stated before my wife and i are looking to go back in june to take advantage of the rewards points from jetblue. however, it's begining to feel like we've done it all when i know there's more to see. so, i'm going to ask you folks for suggestions.

this is what we've done thus far:

ayo rock, natural pool, depalm island, snorkeling, casinos, downtown, natural bridge, etc...

we've done the jeep tours but don't think doing it over on atv or horseback is worth the time....you're still looking at the same things.

are there any hidden things in aruba that i'm missing? perhaps non-touristy things?

How about just enjoying the sun, water, good food and relax.

Helicopter tour - it's fun to see the island from above.
Climb the Hooiberg - on a clear day you can see Venezuela

Look for local festivals that might be going on when you're there. We've been there a couple of times over Labor Day (May 1st) and that's when they have the Open House at the Dutch Marines in Savaneta - what a fun and interesting day that was!

If you are there Wednesday, June 24:

St. John's Day (Dera Gai). A folklore celebration with dance and music & lighting of fires.

    ah....charlie's bar is a place i haven't been to.

hooiberg climbing.....sounds interesting. do you go about that yourself? or, via a tour guide?

btw, we did the jolly pirates and the helicopter......sweated my head off in that one - the helmet + heat does not go well.

    LOL...it is DH.

We go to Charlie's Bar on every trip. Make sure you sit at the bar - the bartenders know alot and have seen alot - they're always entertaining. They have ice cold Balashi on tap in frosted mugs and if you like spicy food be sure to try their Honeymoon Sauce. Not a cheap place but....we've never has a dull moment there.

You go on your own to the Hooiberg. You'll need a rental car to get there and there are steps on one side (about 590 of 'em). Go early in the morning before it gets hot and take water, camera, binoculars, and water with you.
