Okay thank you very much. I am going to go with the lighter wait tankini then. What about an SPF cabana...think they are a good idea to bring too?
Will skip the umbrella on the pack-n-play but still bring it along. Thank you much for your help. |

Being in the shade under a palapa on a sunny or cloudy day STILL requires "slathering" of the lotion. The UV rays are refected off the sand and water. ...Speaking as someone who received a sunburn under a palapa on an entirely overcast day...

re: bringing your own portable cabana
the winds are constant in aruba. (*'cept when the hurricanes north of the island suck away those tradewinds) any type of portable umbrella...........or tent like shade hut has the capability to blow away.........and become a flying projectile. there are many shade huts on the beach there is lots of shade area at the pool/lazy river speak to the front desk folks at check in. the surf club "rents" prime palapas to their guests. other palapas in the not so sought after locations are readily available free of charge.
