Alhambra Casino

We used to love this casino (5-6 years ago) but recently it has felt rundown and just not the same vibe. We go again next week and I was wondering if anyone has been there recently. Any changes?
THanks!

We went to Alhambra quite a bit during our stay in March. It is very smokey and the only one of us that won anything was my FIL at the blackjack tables (the rest of us played slots). It was a matter of convenience for us since we were staying at Divi Dutch Village.
We enjoyed some of the high rise casinos more.

Thanks. It sounds about the same. I still enjoy it there though. 4 1/2 days!

It's not a bad casino but it is dated - decor and machines. We prefer the Stellaris but as you can imagine the newer properties are "cleaner."

The Alhambra is still my favorite casino - could that be because I won their last night - anyway my second favorite is The Hyatt but..... there is no action til late at night whereas the Alhambra is usually quite busy. As for the Marriott, I hate that they let people play 2 hands at 3 Card Poker so you can't get on a table. Wouldn't be so bad if they let them play if noone else wants to play but they don't. Ah well!

Having never been there, I was just curious what the minimum bets are on most of the table games there? I am especially curious about Caribbean stud, let it ride, and 3 card poker because I would like to try these games for the first time. I enjoy gambling but am not a high roller by any means so I would like to play these games if it isn't a big minimum bet. Also, does Alhambra ever have any Texas Hold Em tournaments? Thanks in advance for the replies everyone! I'll be there in less than a month .

jdmutt,
most of the games have a minimum of 5 dollars...you of course may end up betting more especially in 3 card if you are going for a pair...

As for the Alhambra itself....yeah, old...yeah, rundown...but can not complain about the craps tables....won while there in November and have won upwards of 750 playing slots one year and a few hundred most every other time.....so how could I compain...plus staying at Divi Village and being able to ride the tram and not have to worry about drinking and driving is always a good thing.....

we do go to the other casinos though, but never really do very good and I actually think they are all about the same. The only other casino I've won any kind of real money at is the Seaport, but anymore its just scary to go into.....

That casino needs alot of work, it's old dark and dank. It used to be one of the best on the Island, but has been slowly showing it's age.
