We have seen a lot of people win there over the years too. Last year I saw a man win big..twice..on two different slot machines. My husband always does pretty well at the $5 Blackjack table.
I do like it there but did notice it running down a bit over the last few years. Was hoping for a surprice remodel this year...of well, maybe I will be the one to win big this year

There is group down there this week (associates from work) and two people have hit for $1,000 at Alhambra this week. That is so sweet to get that extra cash while on vacation. I am trying to find out what they were playing. I hope I am that lucky in July.

    Just thinking out loud here...
Would you prefer a new glitzy casino with low payouts or
dated and rundown with a higher payout?

If I were there for the gambling, I would surely opt for a higher pay out!

i do object though to the folks using the coin catcher thingy built into the machines as "ash trays"

Well my wife and I just got back and as usual everything was great. The people at the Tam were great. Alhambra casino was pretty good to us. We found out this trip from the casino manager Judith that we have 2 weeks of vacation on the casino at the divi. We never check our points and over the years we have lots of points so this was good news. Beleive I no it's not free but it's good to get something out of it. So my two weeks in Sept might be free

a few years ago we turned in our points for 4 nights at divi dutch. all we had to pay was the tax. they let us split it up 2 nights pre timeshare and 2 nights post timeshare.
it was when dutch was in the midst of renovations and we got renovated unit each time.

We are here...yea! I too prefer pay out versus the glitz, every time. We used to love the Key Largo...definitely low key.
We went to the Alhambra last night and had a great time. My husband won at BJ so that is always a good night. It seemed it good shape and everyone was nice and in a good mood. Must have just been a bad night last year. We did have a big win at the Hyatt the other night and that was great. Our first time winning $1100.
