    August or October

i am visiting Aruba and have to choose between August and October. I want it to be fun - I don't like huge crowds but do enjoy a little nightlife. I went in September once and it was DEAD. How are August and October?

    august is busier than October.

we have been to aruba in every month and the most quiet times are Sept, Oct, most of November (except for thanksgiving week) and December til about Dec 22.

i have never witnessed the "dead time"

We tried October twice and both times experienced more than normal wet weather, although I think that may be part of their so called rainy season. We now stick with May. Never been in August as it is usually very warm in Boston and we are surrounded by water.

Late October is pretty quiet. So is mid June. I dont have much of a preference either way... It is never over crowded or too empty.

Dead works for me I like it quiet and I like being able to get into restaurants easily w/o planning prior to even leaving the U.S. I would focus on the weather more and I would choose August primarily cause October might have more chances of rain. I was there in December and had 2 days of rain. I do mean downpours. Not just spinkles. I think the further into fall you go the more chances of rain. I would let that make my decision for me.
