Is Gaming Regulated in Aruba?

Just curious if gambling is regulated in Aruba like it is in NV? In specific, the NGC makes periodic checks to ensure that slot machines are set to a state minimum payout and that the game is programmed to be "fair".

I really can't answer that, but can give an opinion....for what ever it's worth.....doubt highly that gaming is regulated...unless this new government has decided to monitor the hotels that is....interesting question.
Andrea, would the ATA have that info ?????

Gaming is definitely monitored and inspected by the Aruba Gov't. There are inspectors that check on the operations. In fact, many of the inspectors can be found on-site in the evenings - they look like they work for the casinos but are actually government employees - they usually wear a nice suit. The brother of one of my Aruban neighbors is a government casino inspector and has been an inspector for years. He is a very nice man - I have met him many times but when I see him in the casinos, he is all business. They take their jobs very seriously.
Another friend is a casino manager and he reports that the government checks the machines and they better be in compliance otherwise the gov't could shut the casino down.

Thank you Cheryl! I was just curious... we go to LV quite often and we're planning our first Aruba trip. I never "expect" to be a winner but if the machines are fair games, you will at least win on occasion.

Thanks again for the information. - Dino

the link above gives no information re: this regulation of casino topic.

there are government inspectors and rules and regulations that have to be followed. (read cheryl's post)

but is it monitored and regulated like vegas or atlantic city?
i have no clue.

we have never been to vegas.

been to atlantic city, foxwoods, mohegan sun and hard rock in tampa and NEVER won much of anything....maybe lunch money.
we HAVE won in aruba which is amazing as everyone really complains about the slots being very tight.

been looking around for the past 30 minutes and could not find anything about it being regulated.
